Skylight Books is a general bookstore serving the historic Los Angeles neighborhoods of Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, and Downtown. Located in the shadow of Griffith Park and its iconic Observatory, our Los Feliz neighborhood is host to many independently owned shops, restaurants, and movie theaters. Our curated selection features the best of literary fiction; graphic novels; children's books; California history and culture; political and social sciences; essays and nonfiction; and books on art, photography, film, and music. We also feature hand-picked magazines and zines, along with a selection of stationery and gifts. Our events program is nationally recognized and features major touring authors, local favorites, and debuts.
Skylight Books opened on November 1, 1996, on the former site of another local bookstore landmark, Chatterton's.
Skylight Books only sells New books - we do not deal in Used, Rare, or Out of Print books.
I (Marie Montgomery) am so excited to finally announce that 2 of Rebecca's books Love's Requiem and Ride or Die were chosen by Skylight Book Store to be shelved IN THEIR STORE and online.
This is a huge accomplishment, being located in downtown Los Angeles, Skylight receives hundreds of visitors per day and has a reputation for being one of the top bookstores in the area. They are cautious of shelving books by authors that aren't on top of the pyramid and well accomplished.
This is a ginormous step in her writing career.
I have been working on this for months, yet I didn't tell Rebecca, because I didn't want to get her hopes up high for something that was such a shot in the dark for me to be making.
Months ago I sent Skylight copies of all her published books. We finally got the call and after reading them, they decided to showcase their two favorites on their store shelves and online.
Congratulations! We're so proud of you.
We can't wait to see where this leads and what doors it may open.
Never forget that patience is golden and with dedication comes greatness!
